Local Knitting Lessons

Would you like to learn how to knit, but don't want to spend a fortune taking a class at a yarn and knitting boutique? I offer beginner and intermediate lessons! Private lessons are $5 a person, or if you can get a group of more than 4 people together, I will offer it for $4 a person...and more than 8 people I will offer it for $3 a person! Each lesson is 45 minutes long. You can either choose your own project that you would like to learn (within reason in regards to your skill level) or choose from the following:

First-Timer Lessons (basic scarf or pot holder) - include casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch, casting off.

Beginner Lessons - can learn how to make a ribbed scarf, how to read beginner patterns, and making basic leg warmers.

Intermediate Lessons - can learn cable knitting (scarf and leg warmers), how to read intermediate patterns, how to make a hat.

Harris Tweed Rib Scarf

Yesterday I picked up a new pattern that I thought I could share with you guys. It is an easy one and a great next step from the simple alternating knit, purl ribbed scarf to something slightly more complicated. The pattern is as follows.

Cast on desired amount of stitches in 4s plus 2 more. I went with 30.

Row 1: Knit 2, [*purl 2, knit 2]. Continue from [*] to end of row.
Row 2: Purl 2, [*knit 2, purl 2]. Continue from [*] to end of row.
Row 3: Knit row.
Row 4: Purl row.
Row 5: Repeat Row 1.
Row 6: Repeat Row 2.
Row 7: Purl row.
Row 8: Knit row.
Continue this pattern until you've reached desired length, then cast off.
